POLLINATING URBAN FOOD SYSTEMS

CRECE understands many of the barriers that keep BIPOC-led and owned land projects from thriving because we experienced them ourselves–lack of resources, orientation, mentorship, technical assistance, legal advice, and peer-to-peer support.

There came a point in our development as a community project where we realized there was a gap needing to be bridged in our region to serve as that stepping stone for the next generation of BIPOC urban growers and land stewards.

Over the years, CRECE has developed key partnerships with other community organizations and agencies committed to providing support systems for local growers trying to get their operations off the ground and for people exploring the many ramifications of urban agriculture in general. Together we can provide business development support, particularly around cooperative models, navigating permitting and legal regulations, sharpening technical skills, and more.

Our Impact

CRECE Urban Farms embodies sound ecological practices through farming and waste management that are scalable to create a city-wide impact. We work to create a healthy, equitable, and sustainable food system for future generations in Santa Ana and the greater Orange Country region that is rooted in community-driven economic development, land stewardship, policy advocacy, health and wellness, and community building.
