La Granjita and the road

towards Land acquisition

For 8+ years, La Granjita has been central to hosting community-driven programs, including:

  • training the next generation of urban farmers and land stewards

  • offering locally grown organic produce to working families

  • providing incubation space for cooperatives to develop

The Church that houses La Granjita plans to sell the property in the coming months. Regardless of the sale’s outcome, we are committed to securing a permanent space for CRECE to continue its indispensable work and serve the surrounding neighborhoods, which are home to a diverse BIPOC population.

We are actively working with our supporters to identify strategies that would protect the 8+ years of work that have transformed this land into the vibrant, healing space we know today.

In the meantime, community ownership of food and agriculture remains central to our mission, and land acquisition is an essential strategy towards that end. We hope to have more details as soon as we can.
